7th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF THE EUROPEAN MILK BANK ASSOCIATION (EMBA) took place in Mardit on 25th – 27th of October
Congress attracts healthcare professionals and scientists in the fields of breastfeeding, human milk banking, human milk research, and infant nutrition not only from Europe but all around the World.
This year the main theme of the EMBA Congress was: “Human Milk Banks: Equity and Quality for the Health of Vulnerable Babies”. Following the COVID era, this was the first EMBA Congress where all speakers and chairs will join us onsite to ensure the highest quality of interactions. Participants have had the opportunity to exchange ideas, and meet colleagues from all over the world and listen to lectures from the prominent experts.
The 7th International EMBA Congress was preceded this year by an interesting Workshop on High Temperature Short Time Pasteurization on Wednesday, 25th of October.
At the congress, Poland was represented on behalf of the Human Milk Bank Foundation and the Human Milk and Lactation Research Laboratory of the Medical University of Warsaw by: Aleksandra Wesołowska, PhD – president of the Foundation, Gabriela , Ph.D – member of the Foundation’s Scientific Council, Magdalena Babiszewska-Aksamit, Ph.D, Agnieszka Bzikowska-Jur, MD and PhD and Aleksandra Mołas, MA (who also represents the Human Milk Bank at the Holy Family Specialist Hospital in Warsaw).
